This course is designed to teach you maths skills that are useful in everyday life and grow in confidence using maths.
Each module leads to a City & Guilds certificate at a level that is right for you.
You will be able to work at your own pace completing units as you progress towards the qualification you are working towards and won’t be required to take a formal exam and is ideal for people who like to learn in bite-sized chunks rather than signing up for a long course
Due to the modular nature of the course learners can join at various stages throughout the programme at the start of each new module and where we have availability.
Topics Covered:
•Positive and Negative Numbers: You’ll gain confidence dealing with large numbers in a friendly group and receive the support you need to add, subtract, multiply and divide using written methods.
•Calculation Using Squares and Rectangles: Learn about squares, rectangles and box shapes – how to calculate perimeter, area and volume. You will also get to design, make and decorate a box to hold am item of your choice.
•Decimals: Be confident, ordering, adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing decimals. Use decimals to solve problems in a real-life context.
•Addition and Subtraction: We use addition and subtraction almost every day. This course will help you to total and take away in your head and on paper.
