About this course

Take a  look at the poet Lord Byron’s connections to Nottinghamshire. We explore why, as a boy, he first came to Nottingham, and explore his links with Newstead, Annesley, Southwell, Newark and Hucknall.

This course is programmed as part of the Miner2Major Landscape Partnership scheme, supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

This single session will take learners on a virtual tour of the locations in Nottinghamshire associated with Lord Byron, through illustrations, presentations, discussion and video.

Learners will gain a knowledge of Lord Byron’s life and how his time in Nottinghamshire shaped his life and poetry.

No previous knowledge is needed.
