About this course

It’s space time!

Join us for this FREE family course at Newark Buttermarket this Easter half term. We will be using both our maths and creative skills to take an exciting leap into space and explore how our solar system relates to time! This is a fun relaxed session for both adults and children over 5 to join in together.

What will be covered on the course?

During this course, we will explore how space relates to time and dates. During session one we will delve deep into the solar system and investigate how the moon impacts days of the year, for example Easter! You will get crafty during the session and produce a mixed media college to take home. During session two, we will observe different dates on a calendar, and you will get to create your very own space themed calendar to take away.

What will learners achieve by the end of the course?

On completion of the course, learners will be able to:

- understand how space influences time and dates

- recognise how the moon impacts the date of Easter Sunday

- use a variety of mixed media materials to create a collage

- understand how to use a calendar to identify months and dates
