Did you know around a fifth of murders in the UK go unsolved?  Eventually they become ‘Cold Cases’, murders that linger in the minds and the conscience of the detectives who failed to find whodunnit.  In this course we will go over some of the most famous ‘Cold Cases’ in UK and USA murder history.  Along the way we will be pitting our wits against the investigators who, try as they might, couldn’t find justice for the victims and their families.

The course is informal and fun. For anyone who enjoys being an ‘Armchair Detective’, you do not need any previous knowledge – just an enthusiasm for finding out whodunit.

What will be covered on the course?  What will be taught to learners?

  • Why cases ‘go cold’
  • How police forces approach cold cases
  • The details of several famous Cold Cases in UK and USA murder history, including Jill Dando, Jon Benet Ramsey, Madeleine McCann and more. Learners will gain knowledge of the important issues in cold case investigations, with detailed information about actual important cases
