About this course

The course shows you how gestural brushstrokes and mark-making gives the impression of spontaneity in your compositions. Create abstract floral compositions by experimenting with media and tools. Learn how to create impact in a composition by capturing vibrant colours, movement, textures. With practical advice on fundamentals of colour mixing and exploring mark-making techniques you can develop the necessary skills to approach an abstract flower composition using acrylics.

We will look at how one might begin on a ‘blank canvas’, how to build up a work, paying attention to tone and colour, how to spot problems along the way and finishing touches.
