About this course

On this FREE short course, you will discover the wide range of edible crops that you can incorporate into your garden. Whether you have a large of small garden the course will enable you to design and plant an attractive edible garden. No prior knowledge is required.


Join our expert tutor and find out what can be grown in our region; learn tips and techniques on getting the best results and ways to design and plan a garden so it incorporates food crops.

By the end of this course you will:

• Be able to describe where your food comes from and know what edible plants are possible to grow in the UK.

• Be able to produce a garden design to incorporate food crops into my space.

• Be able to grow plants from seed to harvest.

• Know how to provide the best conditions to ensure a good yield.

• Know where to get help and advice to help grow successfully

Ways to make the garden attractive as well as edible (identifying edimentals)


You may find a notebook and pen useful for taking notes.

To secure your place on the course BOTH the following must be done:

  • Complete the EVENTBRITE BOOKING.
  • Complete our INSPIRE ONLINE ENROLMENT FORM for each person attending the course.

You should be redirected to the Inspire Online Enrolment Form after completing the Eventbrite booking.  If you are not redirected, please use the link supplied in the Eventbrite booking confirmation email.

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been living in England and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years.

Some exceptions may apply if you are living in England with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).

As we no longer receive funding for our ESFA-funded courses for learners living in the devolved areas listed below, full cost fees would apply to these courses if you live in these areas:
