About this course

This course will provide practical information to manage or reduce the risk of developing the disease, through healthy eating and being active.


Diabetes can be managed or controlled with behavoural changes. This course will focus on helping you to develop healthy lifestyle changes that will help your management or reduce your risk of type 2 diabetes. The sessions will promote awareness through visual aids and practical advice. Topics covered will include:  

  • Management  
  • Healthy eating (sugars, fibre, fats, protein) 
  • Vitamins and minerals 
  • Reading food labels 
  • Activity ideas 
  • Healthy recipes  

Learners will also receive takeaway literature, healthy eating recipes and signposting to reputable websites and resources to sustain their changes.

To secure your place on the course BOTH the following must be done:

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been living in England and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years.


Some exceptions may apply if you are living in England with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).


As we no longer receive funding for our ESFA-funded courses for learners living in the devolved areas listed below, full cost fees would apply to these courses if you live in these areas:
