About this course

What are the aims of the course?

To enable parents to confidently support their child as they move through key stage 2 and study for their maths SATs exams.

What will be covered on the course?

You’ll have the opportunity to find out about the different areas of the Key Stage 2 maths curriculum. Each area will be broken down into easy-to-understand steps and everyone can have a go at working at maths problems at a level relevant to their ability.

What will learners achieve by the end of the course?

This course is perfect for anyone who has ever thought “What on earth do they DO in maths these days?” or “How can I possibly support my child through SATs?!” By the end of the course, you’ll have a good understanding of all the different areas of primary school maths and how they are used to solve the kinds of problems that appear on SATs papers. We’ll also give you lots of hints and tips for making maths practical and fun.

What skills or knowledge do learners already need to have to attend the course?

None! The way maths is taught in schools now may well be very different to how you were taught when you were at school. If anything, it’s best to come with no preconceived ideas. This course is ideal for those who have a child or children currently in key stage 2 (school years 3-6)

This is an adult only course.

On completion of the course, you will be entered into a prize draw. The winner will receive food shopping vouchers.
