If you have a sewing machine in the cupboard you are afraid to use then get it out and dust it down and learn how to thread it up and take your first steps on your sewing journey on this course. Also, if you have very limited knowledge of your way around your machine or want to get back into it this course will teach you the basics. No prior knowledge of sewing or how to use a sewing machine is needed as this will be taught on the course.

Students will learn:

  • How to thread their machine,
  • How to fill and thread the bobbin,
  • How to take their first steps learning how to use the different stitches on their machine
  • How to trouble shoot and overcome common problems

Students will gain confidence in setting up their machine to enable them to begin to sew small items independently and also to overcome some of the common issues affecting their work.

Resources required by attendees: Sewing machine, fabric pieces, threads, scissors, pins, unpicker.
