This year, the festival took place at the Terry O'Toole Theatre in Lincoln on Saturday 6 December. The evening drew in an audience of 85, who enjoyed performances from inclusive dance groups, alongside unique performances by Propel Dance, the UK’s first and only award-winning professional wheelchair dance company.
Young dancers from the Inspire Youth Arts Dance Development Programme lit up the stage with the premiere of their groundbreaking new dance piece, Before the Last Tree Falls. For the first time, three male dancers from Inspire Youth Arts’ inclusive dance groups came together to create something truly special. Over the course of just six intense, collaborative days, they worked alongside the new Artistic Director and Choreographer, Siobhan Hayes, to bring this performance to life. A fusion of creativity, passion, and raw energy, this performance marks an exciting new chapter in the Dance Development Programme.
Our inclusive dance mentoring programme, Dance Development Project, empowers dancers to unlock their full potential. Helping to build skills, deepen artistic understanding, and gain the confidence, tools, and inspiration needed to pursue a vibrant career in dance.
Forests and trees bring life, hope and health to our planet. Sadly, deforestation of the Amazon has increased by 27% this year. Places which were once teeming with life are now nothing more than little islands amongst a sea of destruction.
