Our Augmented Reality digital art project, working in partnership with the University of Nottingham and a digital artist and a sculptor, began in February 2020, with a series of workshops with five youth groups from across the county; St Giles School (a specialist SEN school) in Retford, Emmaus Trust in Newark (who work with local homeless people), Newark Orchard School (a specialist SEN school), Yeoman Park School in Mansfield (a specialist SEN school), and a group of home-educated young people.
The theme of the workshops was “how do you engage with Sherwood Forest and the natural world in your day to day lives?"
The content created was due to be curated into an exhibition and launched in June 2020, however due to the ongoing COVID pandemic this was delayed. The exhibition will comprise a set of A1 2D prints with 3D augmented reality content using 3D scanning technology which will be able to be viewed via a series of tablet devices.
