Leaf Number Three

Animated leaves on branches, taken from the Leaf Number Three short film

The story

Leaf Number Three highlights the value of being yourself and being proud of what makes you different. Throughout the short film, we're introduced to numerous characters, leaves with their own personalities and preferences that make up one vibrant tree.

The film's design and content was heavily inspired by workshops that took place in May 2025, with targeted groups from Nottinghamshire libraries and the local community. Peter Snelling from film production company MyPockets led the workshops, taking participants through activities and prompts to exercise their creativity like "draw one of the biggest things that's ever happened to you". The drawings were then used in the animation of Leaf Number Three, giving identities and personality to the leaves in the film.
