I Am A Creator: I Am A Maker

What is 'I Am A Maker'?

White text on a brown background reads 'I Am A Maker'

I Am A Maker is the fourth branch of our I Am A Creator cultural programme. I Am A Creator is funded by investment from Arts Council England, through our status as an ACE National Portfolio Organisation.

This programme will see us working with libraries across the county and targeted groups in Bassetlaw, Ashfield, Mansfield and Newark & Sherwood.

Our target groups are:

  • People affected by dementia
  • Older people
  • Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) schools
  • Neurodivergent families
  • Wider public audiences, including audiences that can be/feel excluded from the arts
Inspire are working with five creatively curious makers to develop their creative practices for these target groups; to work collaboratively and engage creatively to produce co-created artworks.

Look out for the FREE family Workshops coming to Inspire Libraries in October half term!

This year, Inspire are programming I Am A Maker workshops linked with The Big Draw 2026: Make A Mark. Workshop information will be available soon.

Discover I Am A Creator – Inspire’s exciting new programme of creative opportunities for people of all ages.

Inspired by some of the fascinating insights we uncovered as part of our ground-breaking, ACE funded, I Am A Reader project, I Am A Creator aims to bring audiences - who may not always recognise themselves as creative – together with professional writers and artists as they co-create exciting new work across a range of mediums.
