Inspire will be the contracting organisation, with funding provided by Miner2Major.

A Project Team with representatives from Inspire, Miner2Major, Mansfield Museum and Nottingham Trent University Museum & Heritage Studies will oversee the work and provide context, guidance, and support as required.

Our aims for this project:

As a legacy of Miner2Major we want to produce high-quality portable resources that celebrate the broad heritage of the Sherwood Forest area.

Our core audience for these resources will be Nottinghamshire primary schools, with the potential for them also to be used by other community venues, groups and organisations.

Who we want to recruit:

We are looking for an experienced project coordinator to help us achieve this goal, someone who likes to think imaginatively and enjoys a challenge.

You will need to have:

·         Excellent project management skills.

·         Excellent budget management and time management skills.

·         Experience of producing heritage interpretation.

·         Knowledge and expertise of working in or with the primary school sector.

The Sherwood Forest portable heritage resources will:

·         Celebrate the broad heritage of the Sherwood Forest area building on the Miner2Major project themes and draft Sherwood Forest interpretation strategy.

·         Provide inspiration for ways in which different audiences can access new and existing heritage collections.

·         Be backed up with digital resources.

·         Be adaptable for use in different locations and organisations, providing a springboard for use alongside their own resources.

The Project Coordinator will:

·         Work closely with the Project Team, taking part in initial meetings to scope the delivery and approach, and taking part in update meetings throughout the project.

·         Consult with representatives of the core audience (primary schools) and selected wider audiences.

·         Produce an initial outline plan for the resources.

·         Design and test prototype resources.

·         Commission the final resources, to be completed no later than 31 December 2023.

Fee

A total budget of £30,000 is available for this work. This is to include:

·         Your project coordinator costs.

·         Consultation costs.

·         A budget to commission artists, heritage professionals and educationalists.

·         Production of the resources.

A breakdown of the total fee will be negotiated once the final delivery method and approach is agreed.

Applications process

·         Submissions should be made by Sunday 30 October 2022 to arts@inspireculture.org.uk

·         Interviews will take place in November 2022.

Please note that applications will be reviewed by representatives of the organisations: Inspire, Miner2Major, Mansfield Museum, Nottingham Trent University.
