Inspiring Early Years

Between 2018 - 2023, Inspire has been working to enhance our offer in libraries for early years children and their families.  Supported by Arts Council England, National Portfolio Organisation funding we have developed an exciting cultural programme to introduce early years children to new experiences, support their learning and language skills and to create memorable and fun experiences in the library.

Our early years programme has had three strands: visual arts (Little Creatives), music (Adventures in Music) and story and drama (Story Explorers).

You can find our more about our journey below; read our report, see the programmes in action, read case studies and hear from the creative practitioners involved in delivering the work in libraries.

Creative art sessions designed by professional artists, who were supported by Inspire in their training.

The Little Creatives Book

Inspire are delighted to announce that we have launched a Little Creatives book! The book has been inspired by the work of five artists and draws on their experiences while delivering playful, creative workshops in libraries and community venues across Nottinghamshire. It is packed with ideas for fun activities to do at home and it brings together the areas of learning that are important in the early years with creative play, imagination and the exploration of new materials.

The book is now issuable from all Inspire Libraries for families to take home and enjoy.
